Our BBQ Pack: What's Inside and How to Cook Every Cut
Share
Our BBQ Pack is built for exactly one thing: a stress-free grill session with no weak links. It mixes premium steaks, three types of burger, and a proper British sausage, so there's something for everyone at the table — from the steak purist to the kids who just want a burger. Here's exactly what's in it and how to get the best out of each item.
What's in the BBQ Pack?
- 4 x 6oz Prime Rump Steaks
- 6 x 6oz Chicken Thigh Burgers
- 6 x 4oz Classic Beef Burgers
- 4 x Chicken Breasts
- 500g Thick Cumberland Sausages
That's enough variety to comfortably feed 6–8 people, with leftovers likely if you're serving sides alongside it.
How to Cook Each Item in the Pack
Prime Rump Steaks (6oz)
Rump is one of the most underrated cuts for a BBQ — deeply flavourful, well-textured, and more affordable than sirloin or ribeye without giving up much on taste. Bring the steaks to room temperature before cooking, season generously with salt just before they hit the grill, and cook over high, direct heat for 3–4 minutes per side for medium-rare. Rest for 5 minutes before serving to let the juices settle.
Tip: rump has slightly more chew than ribeye, so don't be tempted to cook it past medium — it's at its best pink in the middle.
Chicken Thigh Burgers (6oz)
Made from thigh meat rather than breast, these stay noticeably juicier on the grill because the extra fat content means they're far more forgiving than a standard chicken burger. Cook over medium heat for 6–7 minutes per side, until the internal temperature reaches 75°C. Their larger 6oz size means they hold up well to a proper bun and toppings without falling apart.
Classic Beef Burgers (4oz)
Traditional, flame-ready, and seasoned simply so the beef does the talking. These hold their shape well on the grill — no need to worry about them falling apart or shrinking too much. Cook over medium-high heat for 4 minutes per side for a classic, fully-cooked burger with a good char on the outside.
Chicken Breasts
The most versatile item in the pack. Keep them whole and grill over medium heat for 6–7 minutes per side (until juices run clear and internal temp hits 75°C), or cut into chunks for quick-cooking skewers — about 8–10 minutes total, turning regularly. They're lean, so a marinade or BBQ glaze brushed on in the last few minutes of cooking helps keep them from drying out.
Thick Cumberland Sausages
A proper British BBQ staple — peppery, coarse-textured, and made to hold together over open flame. Cook over medium heat for 18–20 minutes, turning regularly so they cook through evenly without splitting or burning on the outside before the middle's done.
Suggested Cook Order
Because everything in this pack cooks at a different pace, here's the order that keeps things running smoothly if you're cooking it all together:
- Start the sausages first (18–20 minutes) — they take the longest of the quick-cook items
- Add the chicken breasts or skewers shortly after (6–10 minutes)
- Put the chicken thigh burgers on next (6–7 minutes per side)
- Finish with the rump steaks and beef burgers (3–4 minutes per side) so they come off the grill last and hottest
This way, everything's ready within a few minutes of each other rather than some items going cold while you wait on others.
How Many People Does the BBQ Pack Feed?
The pack is designed to comfortably serve 6–8 people, assuming guests have a mix of items rather than everyone eating one of everything. If you're feeding a larger group or want to guarantee leftovers, we're happy to put together a bigger custom box — just get in touch.
Frequently Asked Questions
Do I need to marinate anything in the BBQ Pack before cooking? No, everything is ready to cook straight from the pack. That said, the chicken breasts take well to a marinade or glaze if you want to add extra flavour, and the rump steaks only need a simple seasoning of salt just before grilling.
What's the best order to cook everything in the pack? Start with the sausages, since they take the longest of the quick-cook items, then add the chicken, followed by the burgers, and finish with the steaks so everything's ready around the same time.
Can I substitute items in the BBQ Pack? Get in touch and we can talk through options — we're happy to tailor the pack if there's something you'd rather swap in or leave out.
